Migrating KPI Column from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010

Be sure you have at least the Minimum SharePoint 2007 Product Release (shown in the table below) installed before migrating. If not, upgrade your Bamboo product release before migrating. For more information, see Upgrading your Bamboo Web Part. Also, the target SharePoint 2010 farm requires at least the Minimum SharePoint 2010 product release shown.

Icon-Warning IMPORTANT: When migrating from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010, you MUST select the option to change existing SharePoint sites to use the new user experience. Your Bamboo products will not perform as expected with the old look and feel.

Database Attach Upgrade Method
Issues The successful migration of KPI Column depends on the original configuration of the custom column:

  1. If the custom column was configured in SharePoint 2007 using a relative path, then then migration will be successful without additional steps.
  2. If the custom column was configured in SharePoint 2007 using an absolute path, the custom column settings will display the following message in SharePoint 2010:
Site not found. The SharePoint Site 
that contains the Source List is not available.
Resolution There is currently no resolution for the second issue other than deleting and recreating the column. If the URL is updated to the correct SharePoint 2010 URL in the KPI Column settings, the settings will display the following error message:

'ddlOperate' has a SelectedIndex which is invalid because it
does not exist in the list of items. Paremeter name: valueObject
reference not set to an instance of an object.
